Why We Ship from Our Warehouse in China? Transparency and Sustainability Above All
While most brands try to hide the origin of their products, we take a different approach:
At Elle & Rose, we believe in transparency. One of the values that underpins every decision we make. Let’s talk about something many brands shy away from: our choice to produce and ship some packages from China.
Why China?
We understand that "Made in China" carries a negative connotation for some people. When we first started Elle & Rose, we had those same doubts.
But guess what? I (Rosalyn) experienced a complete different side of China...
There are incredible companies in China committed to quality, sustainability, and fair practices. I was fortunate to see this firsthand, alongside my ex-businesspartner, when I visited China to carefully select the suppliers we partner with till the date of today.
But what about shipping and sustainability?
Shipping locally might seem like the more eco-friendly choice, but the reality is a bit more complex. Our decision to ship from China is rooted in environmental consciousness.
By strategically selecting manufacturers and shipping methods, we’ve found that the overall carbon footprint is lower when sourcing and shipping from China compared to local distribution.
Let me explain...
The products you buy in stores or have delivered to your home have traveled a long way to reach their destination. Often, these products make 5-7 different stops via ship, train, or even airplane.
This leads to:
❌ CO2-Intensive Transport
Additional transport—from the ship to distant warehouses and eventually to the customer—results in higher CO2 emissions.
❌ Excessive Protective Packaging
The risks of damage during multiple transport stages necessitate overuse of protective packaging, contributing to increased waste.

Direct shipping minimizes the total distance traveled, contributing to a smaller ecological footprint.
This leads to:
✅ Strategically Located Warehouse
Our fulfillment center is located near our factory, keeping transport to a minimum and drastically reducing CO2 emissions.
✅ Efficient Shipping
Individual shipments by air reduce the need for excessive protective packaging, resulting in less waste.

Have You Considered Local Shipping / Warehousing?
We’ve certainly thought about local production, and it’s a fantastic idea! However, our goal is to make a positive impact on a global scale as well.
Our mission isn’t just to influence the places closest to us—it’s also about contributing to a worldwide shift toward sustainability. By operating from China for some countries, we can efficiently reach people around the world, encouraging sustainable practices and spreading the message of responsible consumption.
While shipping directly from China aligns with our current sustainability goals, we are committed to exploring options for local production in regions where our brand gains a strong presence. Our long-term vision includes establishing manufacturing facilities closer to our customers, fostering a more localized and eco-friendly approach to production.
Our decision to ship products from China is a conscious choice, one that reflects our values of transparency, environmental responsibility, and global impact. We’re not just a fashion brand; we’re a movement, and we’re thrilled to have you as part of it.
Thank you for supporting us on our mission. Together, we’re making an impact!
